What to Do If You Fail Any Course in EBSU

Let’s be honest first

One thing almost every EBSU student fears the most is failing a course.

The fear alone can disturb your sleep, affect your confidence, and even make you overthink school.

But here’s the truth nobody tells you early enough:

Failing a course is not the end of the world.

It’s not good, yes.

But it’s not bad enough to define your future either.

So if you mistakenly failed any course, calm down. Let’s talk about it properly and explain how things work in EBSU the real way, the way Studentsdash explains it to students every day.

What Does It Mean to Fail a Course in EBSU?

In EBSU, when you fail a course, we usually call it carry over (some people call it reference).

What it simply means is that you will carry that course and rewrite it in your next level.

For example 👇🏽

 • If you fail a course in 100L first semester, you’ll write it in 200L first semester

 • If you fail a course in 100L second semester, you’ll write it in 200L second semester

Simple, right?

Shey you grab? 😄

This is one of those things Studentsdash keeps reminding students about, especially freshers, so nobody panics unnecessarily.

What If You Failed More Than One Course?

Now this is where many students get confused.

Every semester, there is a limit to how many courses you can register.

So if you failed maybe 3, 4, or even 5 courses, adding them to your next level courses can become a problem.

This is where Studentsdash usually steps in to explain things clearly 👇🏽

If you fail up to 3 courses, those courses may automatically appear during course registration, and most times you won’t be able to uncheck them.

So what do you do?

You will have to drop some courses from your current level so that you can register the failed ones first.

What If You Failed Many Courses (Like 5 Courses)?

Let Studentsdash explain again properly 👇🏽

If you failed 5 courses in 100L, and you move to 200L, but there is no space to combine:

 • your 5 failed courses plus

 • all your normal 200L courses

Then you’ll have to drop some 200L courses.

The dropped 200L courses will now be written in 300L, and it continues like that.

That’s why Studentsdash always advises students:

👉🏽 Avoid failing multiple courses if you can.

Not because your life is over, but because it slows down your academic journey.

So What Should You Do If You Have Carry Overs?

If you’re a new student or an old student already dealing with carry overs, don’t worry too much.

Just:

 • Fix the courses properly

 • Register them correctly

 • Write the exams and quizzes

 • Clear them and move on

And if you’re confused at any point course registration, carry over issues, or school-related questions you already know who to ask 😉

Studentsdash is always available as your school guardian, guiding you through daily school questions and academic challenges.
