EBSU SUG Secretary General Visits Presco Campus Freshmen, Emphasizes Security and Clearance Guidance

The Secretary General of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Ebonyi State University (EBSU), Comr. Chukwudi Egwu Ogbonna, has paid an official visit to newly admitted students at the Presco Campus.
He was accompanied by the Assistant Secretary General, Comr. Amos, and other SUG aides during the visit.
According to the SUG leadership, the visit was aimed at welcoming the freshmen, guiding them through key administrative processes, and helping them settle properly into academic life.
While addressing the students, Comr. Chukwudi reminded them that the university’s matriculation ceremony has been scheduled for January 17. He stressed the need for students to take their clearance and documentation seriously.
He assured the freshmen that the SUG Secretariat would provide timely and accurate information, including step-by-step guidance on clearance procedures, to prevent mistakes that could affect matriculation.
The Secretary General also commended Prof. Umahi Michael, describing him as a hardworking and dedicated lecturer who consistently supports student development. He noted that Prof. Michael’s commitment to student welfare stands as a good example within the university.
In addition, the SUG leadership praised the EBSU management for improving students’ comfort at the Presco Campus. The management recently split first-year students into two lecture halls, a move aimed at reducing overcrowding and ensuring better ventilation and learning conditions.
On security matters, Comr. Chukwudi raised concerns over a recent near-attempted rape incident around the Presco axis. He strongly advised students to be security conscious and manage their time properly.
He urged students to move around during the daytime and avoid late-night movements that could expose them to danger.
During the visit, the SUG team also greeted 400-level students who were present in the laboratory.
The visit ended with a reaffirmation of the SUG’s “Student-First” commitment, promising to continue working toward the safety, academic success, and smooth administrative experience of all Presco Campus students.
Signed:
Comr. Chukwudi Egwu Ogbonna
