REVENGE ON MY EX STORIES

Episode 30 – Revenge on My Ex

For the next ten seconds…
Nobody moved.

Not me.
Not Chukwuma.
Not even the mosquitoes outside beating drum on the gate.

My heart was hitting my chest like pure water on a hot day.

Emmanuel wants to take me out tomorrow.
Emmy is outside at 11pm begging to “see my face”.

God, why is my life episode-by-episode like Netflix series??

Chukwuma dragged me away from the window.

“Lili, listen to me,” he whispered. “If you go outside, I SWEAR I will do obituary poster for you by morning.”

I nodded fast.

But my body?

My useless, emotional, badly-wired body?

It was still shaking like MTN SIM in bad network.

Another message dropped from Emmy:

“I won’t leave until you come out.”

Ah.
Beautiful.
Kidnap vibes.

Chukwuma grabbed my phone.

“He won’t leave? Me too I won’t sleep. Let’s see who will win.”

Then he marched to the gate.

I panicked.

“Where are you going??”

“To tell him to GO HOME. Nonsense.”

“NOOO!” I whispered-screamed, dragging him back.
“You’ll make it worse!”

He looked at me with disappointment.

“You see? I told you. Emotional mumu. You’re shaking for a man that made you cry in a RESTAURANT.”

I opened my mouth to defend myself.

Nothing came out.

Because he was right.

I hated it.

But he was right.

We both peeked through the curtain again.

Emmy was still there.

Standing.

Not touching his phone.
Not pacing.
Just… waiting.

That thing touched me small.

Just small oh.
Not too much.

I sighed.

“I’ll just go outside and tell him to leave quietly”

Chukwuma jumped like he touched electric wire.

“ARE YOU MAD?? At night?? Alone?? This is how people run into spiritual attack!”

I almost laughed.

But then my phone buzzed again.

Emmanuel.

“Goodnight, Lilian. Sleep well. And don’t overthink anything.”

My heart melted.

One man is giving me peace like cold zobo.
The other man is giving me stress like ASUU strike.

Life is about balance, I guess.

I typed back:

“Goodnight, Emmanuel 😊”

The moment I sent the emoji, my spirit slapped me.

Why did I put smiley face??
Why am I smiling??
Why am I stupid??

Before I could judge my life further…

KNOCK.
KNOCK.
KNOCK.

This time harder.

Chukwuma’s eyes widened.

“Oh. He wants to fight.”

Then we heard Emmy’s voice through the gate.

Soft.
Broken.
Too emotional.

“Lilian… please.”

My heart jumped into my throat.

I couldn’t breathe.

My brother looked at me slowly.

“That ‘please’ was too emotional. You better not be falling for that nonsense.”

I wasn’t sure.

Then something happened that nearly killed me.

The security light showed his face clearly…

And Emmy was crying.

Actual tears.

Real tears.

Falling.

My knees almost buckled.

“Chuks… he’s crying,” I whispered.

My brother squinted.

“He might be sweating from the eyes. Don’t be deceived.”

But even he looked shaken.

Then Emmy said softly:

“I just… I can’t sleep without talking to you. Please, Lilian.”

Oh God.

Oh God.

My chest did front flip and back flip.

Why is this boy like this??
Why now??
Why tonight??
Why is he crying??
Why is my heart misbehaving??

I took one step toward the door.

Chukwuma blocked me immediately.

“NO. You’re not going anywhere.”

“I just want to see what he wants”

“If you go out there,” he said calmly, “you will go back to that nonsense cycle again. And I’m tired of saving you.”

That one hit me hard.

I swallowed.

Tears gathered in my eyes.

“I’m not going back,” I whispered. “I just… want to hear him.”

My brother sighed loudly.
He shook his head.

“Okay. Fine. If you must talk… you’ll talk from inside. Through the gate. No touching. No eye contact that will confuse your destiny. No emotional nonsense.”

I nodded.

We walked to the front door together.

I opened it quietly.

The cold air hit me.

I stepped closer to the gate… slowly.

Emmy noticed movement and looked up.

Our eyes met through the small gap.

And immediately…
His face softened.
My chest tightened.
Everything inside me went stupid.

“Lilian,” he said breathlessly.
“You came.”

I held the gate tightly.

“Why are you here?” My voice cracked.

He stepped closer.

“I had to see you. Everything that happened today… I handled it wrong. I hurt you. I didn’t want the day to end like that.”

I blinked fast.

“Emmy… you shouldn’t be here.”

He swallowed.

“I know. But I couldn’t stop myself.”

Chukwuma whispered to me:

“Don’t fall for it. Don’t fall for it. Don’t fall for it…”

Emmy continued:

“I miss you.”

Boom.
Direct to my chest.

My heart started malfunctioning.

“I miss talking to you. I miss laughing with you. I miss… you.”

I instantly forgot my name.

I tried to sound strong.

“You can’t just show up at night and say that.”

“I know,” he said. “But I had to. I can’t lose you.”

My breath caught.

Lose me?
Lose WHAT??
You that has been treating me bad.

But the way he said it…

My chest hurt.

He continued:

“I’m sorry, Lilian. For everything. For today. For the past. For confusing you. I’m trying. I swear.”

A tear rolled down my cheek.

Stupid tear.

Stupid heart.

Stupid Emmy.

Then he whispered:

“Just… don’t replace me.”

My heart STOPPED.

Replace???

“With who??”

Does he know about Emmanuel??

I felt hot.
Panicked.
Exposed.

“How did you” I started.

Before he could answer…

My phone vibrated again.

Emmanuel.

A voice note.

I froze.

Emmy saw the notification light on my phone.

His jaw tightened.

His voice dropped.

“Lilian… who keeps texting you this late?”

I swallowed.

My heart scattered.

This is bad.

Very bad.

VERY VERY BAD.

And deep inside me…

I knew:

The drama was just beginning.

TO BE CONTINUED… 😳🔥💔😱

Episode 31 – Revenge on My Ex

The night air suddenly felt cold…

Maybe because Emmy’s eyes were on me like I was hiding a whole husband behind the gate.

He repeated the question slowly:

“Lilian… who is texting you by 11pm?”

Oh God.
Oh God.
Oh God.

Why do men ask questions like this at night??
Why can’t they sleep like normal human beings???

My brain went blank.

Before I could form words, Chukwuma whispered from behind me:

“Tell him it’s your pastor.”

I elbowed him.

Emmy stepped even closer to the gate.

“Lilian… answer me.”

His voice wasn’t angry.
It wasn’t soft either.
It was that dangerous middle… the type that weakens my knees.

I looked away.

“It’s nobody,” I lied.

He exhaled sharply.

“You’re lying.”

My heart did gymnastics.

He looked hurt.
Angry.
Confused.
All at once.

But before he could say anything else…

My phone betrayed me.
It vibrated again.

Another message from Emmanuel.

This time:

“I hope I didn’t disturb you. Sleep well, princess.”

PRINCESS.
OH GOD.
SEND HELP.

Emmy blinked hard.

His jaw tightened.

“Princess?” he repeated quietly.

I died inside.

This is the end.
Dig my grave.
Put me inside.

“Lilian… who is he?”

“N–Nobody!” I said too fast.

Very unconvincing.
God punish my mouth.

Emmy’s eyes softened in a painful way.

“Are you replacing me?”

My chest squeezed painfully.

“No,” I whispered.

“Why are you avoiding me?” he asked.

That question stabbed me.

Because I didn’t know the answer.

Or maybe…

I knew.
I just didn’t want to say it out loud.

Because being with Emmy was like loving fire.
Warm sometimes…
But mostly burning.

I looked down.

“I just needed space.”

He nodded slowly.

Like the words were knives.

He swallowed hard.

“You didn’t tell me.”

“I didn’t know how,” I whispered.

Silence.

Heavy.
Emotional.
Dangerous.

Then Emmy said the one thing I wasn’t ready for:

“I’m not giving up on you.”

My stomach dropped.

Oh no.
Oh no no no no.

He leaned on the gate gently.

“I love you, Lilian.”

Boom.
Heart exploded.

I felt tears sit in my eyes again.

WHY DOES HE SAY THIS KIND OF THING AT NIGHT???

I panicked.
My hands shook.

And that was when it happened.

My phone slipped from my hand.

And fell.

Straight through the small opening in the gate.

Onto Emmy’s side.

My life ended instantly.

Chukwuma whispered behind me:

“You are finished.”

Emmy picked the phone.
Looked at the screen.
Saw Emmanuel’s messages clearly.

He inhaled sharply.

“Oh.”

His voice broke.

A crack.
A real crack.

It stabbed me.

He looked up at me again.

Eyes wet.
Expression tight.

“So… this is why you’ve been avoiding me.”

I shook my head fast.

“No! It’s not like that”

“Then explain,” he said quietly.

Explain what??
Explain how my emotions are confused?
Explain how Emmanuel just gives peace?
Explain how I’m tired of crying?
Explain how I love him but I’m tired of pain?
Explain how I’m stupid??

I couldn’t speak.

“Lilian,” Emmy whispered, “just tell me the truth… do you still want us?”

My throat closed.

I couldn’t breathe.

I couldn’t answer.

And my silence…

Was the answer.

Emmy nodded slowly.

Painfully.

He dropped my phone gently through the gate.

“I understand,” he whispered.

Then he stepped back.

“Goodnight.”

Not angry.
Not shouting.
Just broken.

He turned.

Walked to his car.

Opened the door.

And drove off slowly.

No horn.
No speed.
Just quietly.

My heart shattered.

I stood there frozen.

Chukwuma tapped my shoulder after a long moment.

“You messed up small. But… I understand.”

I didn’t reply.

I went to my room.
Closed the door.
Sat on my bed.

My shawarma was still there.
Cold now.
Like my destiny.

I didn’t even touch it.

I just sat.

Thinking.
Regretting.
Confused.
Hurting.
Angry.
Sad.
Everything at once.

Then…

My phone vibrated.

Again.

Emmanuel.

“Goodnight again. I hope your night is calm.”

Calm??

My night is on fire, sir.

But instead of crying…

I smiled.

A small, stupid, painful smile.

Because in that moment…

I realized two things:

One…
Emmy still loves me deeply.

Two…
And Emmanuel?

Is slowly, quietly…

Entering my heart.

And I am too weak to stop it.

Episode 32 – Revenge on My Ex

I woke up the next morning with eye bags so big, I looked like I carried cement overnight.

My brother saw me and screamed:

“Aunty depressión! Did you fight lion in your sleep??”

I hissed.

“I’m fine.”

“You’re lying,” he said. “Your face is shouting ‘relationship has beaten me.’

I threw a pillow at him.

But honestly?
I wasn’t okay.

Last night kept replaying in my head.
Emmy’s face.
Emmy’s voice.
Emmy’s quiet heartbreak.

I felt like the CEO of stupidity.

I went outside to get fresh air.

And BOOM.

A car parked in front of our gate.

Black. Clean. Loud engine.

Emmanuel stepped out.

My heart misbehaved immediately.

Why is this boy fine like this in the morning??
Who sent him???

He smiled when he saw me.

“Good morning, Lilian.”

My knees said “we are not strong enough for this.”

“Good morning,” I replied shyly.

He held up a small bag.

“I brought breakfast. You didn’t eat properly last night.”

A man that notices your eating pattern??
Ah. Temptation.

I collected the bag and peeked inside.

Pancakes, sausages, juice.

My stomach started praising Emmanuel.

Chukwuma rushed outside like an overprotective mother hen.

“Good morning oh,” he said suspiciously.
“Who invited you?”

Emmanuel smiled politely.

“Just checking on your sister.”

My brother squinted.

“Checking or chasing?”

I nearly died of embarrassment.

“Chukwuma shut up!”

Emmanuel laughed.

“It’s okay. He’s looking out for you.”

My stupid heart melted like hot butter.

We stood outside talking for a few minutes.

He told some silly joke about how he once tried to impress a girl by cooking and nearly burnt down his hostel.

I laughed so hard my chest hurt.

The kind of laugh I haven’t laughed in months.

Peace.
Real peace.

Then he said:

“I want to show you something today. Are you free?”

My heart somersaulted.

But then… Emmy’s painful face flashed in my head.

“I don’t know…” I whispered.

He looked at me gently.

“No pressure. If you want to stay home, I understand.”

See gentleman.
See emotional intelligence.
See sense.

Meanwhile Emmy?
Drama. Tears. Emotional gunshots.

Before I could answer, my phone vibrated.

My heart stopped.

Emmy.
Again.

“Good morning. I’ll pick you up later. Please don’t go anywhere.”

AH.

SIR.
CAN I BREATHE???

I panicked and hid the phone.

Emmanuel noticed my face change.

“You okay?”

“Yes! Yes! Entirely! Completely! 100% okay!!” I lied with the confidence of a thief caught on CCTV.

He raised a brow.

“Is it… Emmy?”

I froze.

I didn’t answer.

And my silence answered.

He nodded slowly.

His voice soft.

“You’re scared of him.”

I swallowed.

“I’m not scared. I’m just… confused.”

He stepped a little closer.

Not too close.
That respectful kind of close that makes you feel safe.

“Lilian,” he said quietly.
“You deserve a man who brings you peace… not confusion.”

Boom.

My heart melted into pap.

Then he gently tucked a strand of hair behind my ear.

Just small.
Very innocent.
Very soft.
Very dangerous.

My whole body malfunctioned.

Before anything else could happen…

Chukwuma shouted from behind us:

“HEY! Emmanuel! Respect yourself oh! Her parents are inside!!”

I almost fell down from embarrassment.

Emmanuel stepped back immediately, laughing.

“No problem. I’m a gentleman.”

Then he added:

“But Lilian… think about today. If you want to clear your head, I’m around.”

He winked lightly.

LIGHTLY.

Not too much.
Just enough to destroy a woman’s emotional discipline.

He got into his car.

Drove off.

Leaving me standing like a confused plantain.

I went inside the house, hugging the breakfast he brought like it was bouquet of flowers.

Mom saw me smiling and rolled her eyes.

“Which man brought that one??”

“No man!” I lied.

She hissed.

“Young lady, your lies smell.”

I ran to my room and locked the door.

As I opened the breakfast pack, my phone vibrated again.

Emmy.

“I’m coming by 2pm. We need to settle this.”

My stomach dropped.

2pm??

I checked the time.

10:47am.

OH GOD.

Emmanuel wants to take me out.
Emmy wants to drag my soul later.

Two men.
One heart.
Zero wisdom.

I lay flat on my bed like a defeated yam.

Then…

Another message popped in.

Not Emmy.

Not Emmanuel.

My friend, Ada.

“BABE! I JUST SAW EMMY POST.
He wrote:
‘Losing her is not an option.’
And he added a broken heart emoji.”

My eyes widened.

Emmy is posting heartbreak quotes online???
Ahhhh.
This is getting serious.

I didn’t know whether to laugh, cry, or block myself.

One thing was clear:

Something big was coming.

And I was not ready.

At all.

TO BE CONTINUED… 😳🔥💔🤣

Episode 33 – Revenge on My Ex

By afternoon, my entire body had entered panic mode.

Not small panic.

BIG panic.

The kind of panic that makes your stomach start vibrating like choir rehearsal.

Because guess what?

Emmy said he was coming by 2pm.
Emmanuel said he wanted to take me somewhere.
And my brother said if he sees me go outside, he will tie me to the bed like Christmas goat.

It was 1:23pm.

My life was loading nonsense.

I kept pacing around my room, squeezing my pillow like somebody practicing for heartbreak Olympics.

Then…

KNOCK. KNOCK.

Again??

I opened the door slowly.

It wasn’t Emmy.

It was my mother.

She folded her arms like principal addressing stubborn student.

“Lilian, somebody’s car just parked outside again. If it is one of those boys, I will embarrass you publicly.”

My heart performed acrobatics.

I rushed to the window, peeped…

…and my heart melted like Milo in hot water.

Emmanuel.

Fine boy. Clean shirt. Holding a small box.
Smiling like sin.

My stupidity whispered:

“Awww… he came for me.”

But my common sense shouted:

“RUN, YOU GOAT!”

Before I even decided what to do, my phone buzzed.

A message from him:

“I’m here… don’t worry. I won’t stay long.”

My spirit started floating.

I tried sneaking outside quietly but
My brother materialized from nowhere.

“Where are you going?”

“Outside.”

“To do what?”

“To collect something.”

“From who?”

“A… delivery man.”

He stared at me like I was the worst liar in West Africa.

“A delivery man that is wearing perfume??”

I hissed and escaped.

And there he was.

Emmanuel.

Looking like a romantic movie trailer.

“Hi,” he said.

I forgot English.

“Uh… oh… hi.”

He handed me the box.

“I got you this. Nothing big. Just thought of you.”

I opened it.

A necklace.
Simple. Cute. Letter L.

My name.

My heart just melted like butter on Yam.

“Emmanuel… this is too much.”

He smiled.
“No. You deserve small good things.”

That sentence alone almost made me fall in love immediately.

BUT

My mother opened the door and screamed:

“LILIAN! Who is that fine boy?? Bring him here!”

I wanted to die.

“Mommy PLEASE!”

But she was already marching towards us like soldier going to battle.

Emmanuel stood straight like he was meeting the Queen.

“Good afternoon, ma.”

My mother’s eyes lit up like Christmas decoration.

“Awwwwn! Good afternoon, my son. Are you the Emmanuel we’ve been hearing about?”

HEARING ABOUT FROM WHERE???

She didn’t even let him talk.

“You’re handsome oh. Are you Igbo? Do you cook? What do your parents do? Do you smoke? Do you drink? Do you pray? Do you commit sin?”

I covered my face like veil bride.

“Mommy PLEASE STOP.”

But Emmanuel… that man…
He kept answering kindly, smiling softly, not even embarrassed.

The more he spoke, the more my mother’s eyes were shining like she just found bride price.

She pulled me aside:

“This one is good. Don’t lose him. Leave that other one that is stressing my blood pressure.”

I was about to argue when she suddenly gasped loudly.

“Wait. Is that not Emmy’s car down the street?”

My heart dropped to my kneecap.

I turned.

And my soul left my body.

It was Emmy.

Parking.

Slowly.

VERY slowly.

Like villain entering season finale.

My mom whispered:

“Ha. Drama is coming.”

I wanted to cry.

Emmanuel noticed my face and turned.

His expression changed.

Not angry… just worried.

Emmy stepped out of the car.

Clean. Serious. Calm.
Walking towards us with that soft-dangerous energy he has when he’s hurting but hiding it.

“God, please give me invisibility for 10 minutes,” I whispered.

But of course… silence from Heaven.

Emmy reached us.

His eyes landed on the necklace box in my hand.

Then on Emmanuel.

Then on me.

“Lilian,” he said quietly.

His voice shook a little.

Just a little.

“I thought you said you weren’t going anywhere.”

My mouth opened…
No words came out.
Just breeze.

Emmanuel stepped closer, respectful.

“Emmy… she didn’t go anywhere. I just stopped by to check up on her. She needed support.”

Emmy’s jaw tightened.

But he didn’t shout.
Didn’t accuse.
Didn’t even glare.

Which made it 10 times scarier.

He just said:

“Lilian… please. Can we talk? Don’t shut me out today.”

My heart flipped.

Then Emmanuel looked at me too.

Not forcing me.

Just asking softly:

“Do you want to go with him?”

I froze.

My heart divided:

Emmanuel = peace, kindness, gifts, calm, fine boy.
Emmy = history, emotions, chaos, memories, heartbreak, comfort.

From the house, my brother yelled:

“LILIAN!!! CHOOSE WISELY!!!”

My mother slapped him.

“Shut up! Let her choose stupidity in peace!”

I wanted to evaporate.

I looked at Emmy.
Then Emmanuel.
Then at the necklace.
Then at my life.

Everything was spinning like NEPA fan.

Emmy said again, softer:

“Please… don’t push me away today.”

That broke something inside me.

I opened my mouth to talk

But before I could speak,

Someone screamed from down the street:

“EMMY! NA YOU DEY HERE?? COME SEE WETIN DEY HAPPEN FOR YOUR HOUSE!!!”

My eyes widened.

Emmy turned sharply.

Fear flashed across his face.

I froze.

What happened to his house??
Why was someone shouting like crime scene?
Why was my heart suddenly beating like generator?

The whole street went silent.

Emmy looked at me.
Emmanuel looked at me.

My stomach dropped.

Something was wrong.

Very wrong.

Something that would change EVERYTHING.

Episode 34 – Revenge on My Ex

So… I finally decided to stop panicking and go with Emmy.

Yes. I actually volunteered to go with him. Don’t ask why. My brain was on vacation and my heart… well, it’s just dramatic.

“Wait,” I said suddenly. “Stop! We can’t just walk into chaos.”

Emmy just raised an eyebrow. That eyebrow… you know the one. The one that makes your brain forget how to speak English.

“Fine,” I whispered, “I’m coming… but you don’t leave me, okay?”

He smirked like I was already trapped.

We stepped into his car. I sat, pretending I wasn’t shaking. Deep down, I couldn’t stand the idea of him going anywhere alone. My brain kept screaming: “What if he falls into fire? Or trips? Or… dies???”

By the time we reached his house… my panic level had gone through the roof.

And guess what?

The house wasn’t on fire. Not even a little. Just… normal. Calm. Entirely boring.

I blinked. “Uh… okay.”

Emmy chuckled. “Told you. Nothing happened.”

I wanted to roll my eyes… but somehow my lips betrayed me and I smiled.

We turned to leave. But before we could, that man from the street appeared again… laughing hysterically.

“April Fool! HAHAHA! Happy April 1st!”

My stomach did a flip. Of course. April Fool’s. That explained the shouting, the running, the mud… the dog.

We all laughed… kinda. Emmanuel had already left, so it was just me and Emmy.

But… deep down, my stomach wasn’t laughing.

I wanted to run after Emmanuel. I missed how he paid for things, how he smiled, how… he actually made me feel cared for.

But here was Emmy… standing there, looking all smug and mysterious.

He leaned closer. “Come on. Let’s go out. I’ll make it up to you.”

I rolled my eyes but agreed.

Of course… I knew what this meant. I would pay. Always. Emmy NEVER paid for anything. Unlike Emmanuel.

But whatever. I wanted to spend more time with him. I couldn’t resist.

We stepped out. I tried acting chill, tipsy just enough to feel fun… but inside, I was like: “Girl, what are you doing???”

We arrived at his place. As usual, I ran to take a bath. Long hot shower. Wrapped myself in a towel. Robbed some cream because… priorities, you know? A girl’s skin matters.

Then, just as I was stepping out…

Emmy appeared from the kitchen. With… dishes. He actually cooked. My jaw dropped.

Before I could say anything, he grabbed me. Strong, sudden, made-my-heart-stop type of grab.

“Lilian… don’t run from me,” he said softly, almost whispering.

I froze. My towel slipped a little (thank God no one saw😂). My heart… well, it skipped like ten beats.

“Emmy… calm down,” I whispered, but my voice betrayed me.

He held me tighter. “I’m trying… to fix us,” he said. His hand brushed my hair, then my cheek.

My brain: STUPIDITY ALERT. YOU ARE ABOUT TO FALL.
My heart: Shut up, just enjoy it.

Then… he started saying all the soft, emotional stuff he’d never said before. About us, about mistakes, about… well, me.

And suddenly… I was tipsy on more than just the small drink I had earlier. I was tipsy on Emmy’s words, his presence, the ridiculous chaos of the day.

We laughed. We almost cried. We stared at each other like idiots.

Then… I noticed something.

The door creaked behind him. Slowly. Creak… creak…

I turned.

No one. Nothing. Just… a shadow. Something moving. My stomach dropped.

I whispered: “Emmy… did you hear that?”

He smiled… mysterious, teasing, dangerous. “Maybe… or maybe it’s just the house, Lilian.”

I shivered.

And just as I was about to reply…

KNOCK. KNOCK.

Not a normal knock. Slow. Deliberate. Like… something fun, scary, and hilarious all at once.

I screamed. Emmy laughed. And deep down… my heart knew this was far from over.

TO BE CONTINUED… ❤️‍🔥💔🔥😳

Episode 35 – Revenge on My Ex

That knock…

Ehn.

It wasn’t the normal “knock knock, delivery” type.

It was the kind of knock that says:

“I know you are inside.
I know what you are doing.
And I did not come in peace.”

KNOCK.
Pause.
KNOCK.

My soul left my body and went to price garri.

I grabbed Emmy’s arm.

“Emmy… who is that??”

He laughed.
LAUGHED.

Not normal laugh.
That annoying calm laugh people laugh before nonsense happens.

“Relax,” he said. “Nobody will kill us.”

US???

Before I could insult him, the knock came again louder.

“Emmy! Open this door before I break it!”

That voice…

I froze.

I knew that voice.

I knew it like I knew NEPA disappointment.

My eyes widened.

“Emmy… is that”

Before I finished, the door BURST open.

BOOM.

And there he was.

EMMANUEL.

Standing like Nigerian movie hero that arrived in the last 10 minutes.

Fine shirt.
Angry eyes.
Breathing like somebody that jogged from heartbreak to madness.

My towel almost betrayed me again.

“What is HE doing here??” I shouted.

Emmy folded his arms.

“You came to my house without knocking. Rude.”

EMMANUEL SCOFFED.

“You think I don’t know this house?
I followed you.”

FOLLOWED ME???

My heart dropped to my ankle.

“Followed me how?? Like… GPS??”

Emmanuel ignored me and faced Emmy.

“So this is where you brought her?”

Emmy smiled—slow, dangerous.

“So this is where you decided to show up uninvited?”

Tension entered the room like bad network.

I stood between them, towel clutched, brain loading.

“PLEASE! Both of you should calm down before neighbors call police!”

Emmanuel laughed bitterly.

“Lilian… is this what you meant by ‘I’m just going to talk to him’?”

I opened my mouth.

No words.

Just disgrace.

Emmy stepped closer.

“Don’t talk to her like that. She chose to be here.”

CHOSE???

I wanted to slap him with frying pan.

Emmanuel looked at me again. His voice softer now.

“Lilian… I waited. I respected your space.
But you disappeared.
And now I find you here… half naked… with him?”

My eyes burned.

“Emmanuel… it’s not like that.”

Emmy interrupted.

“Actually… it is.”

I turned sharply.

“EMMY SHUT UP!”

Both of them paused.

Even my towel was shocked.

I took a deep breath.

“Both of you listen to me.”

They listened.

Power entered my body.

“I am tired.
Tired of choosing.
Tired of panic.
Tired of chaos.
And tired of men stressing my destiny!”

Silence.

Then Emmanuel spoke quietly.

“I came to tell you something important.”

Emmy rolled his eyes.

“Let me guess. Another emotional speech.”

Emmanuel ignored him.

“My ex… the one you heard about…”

My heart skipped.

“She’s pregnant.”

BOOM.

Silence.

My brain blue-screened.

Pregnant???

With WHO???

Emmanuel continued.

“She reached out today.
She said the child might be mine.”

I staggered.

“WHAT??”

Emmy’s eyebrows went up.

“Ah.”

EMMANUEL TURNED TO HIM.

“Don’t ‘ah’ me.”

I sat down suddenly.

Chair saved my life.

My heart was racing like Danfo.

“So… Emmanuel… why are you telling me this?”

He swallowed.

“Because I didn’t want to lie to you.
And because… I still like you.”

I laughed.

Not because it was funny.

Because madness was complete.

Emmy clapped slowly.

“Wow. This day is productive.”

I stood up.

“You know what?”

They both looked at me.

“I am going home.”

Both of them spoke at once.

“Wait—”

“NO.”

I grabbed my bag, my dignity (what was left), and my towel almost fell again but God is faithful.

At the door, I turned.

“Emmy… you and I? We are not fixing anything today.”

He looked shocked.

“Lilian—”

“And Emmanuel…”

He looked hopeful.

“I need space. Real space. Not surprise visits.”

I opened the door.

But before I stepped out…

A woman’s voice shouted from outside:

“EMMANUEL! SO THIS IS WHERE YOU ARE??”

We all froze.

I slowly turned.

And standing there…

Was a pregnant woman.

Hands on waist.
Eyes on fire.
Destiny fully loaded.

She looked at me.

Then at Emmy.

Then at Emmanuel.

And said:

“So THIS is Lilian.”

My life flashed before my eyes.

This was no longer a love triangle.

This was a whole geometry set.

TO BE CONTINUED… ❤️‍🔥💔🔥😳

Episode 36 – Revenge on My Ex

The pregnant woman stood there.

Hands on waist.
Eyes doing thunder fire.

She looked at Emmanuel.

Then at Emmy.

Then at me.

And said again, slowly:

“So… THIS is Lilian.”

My heart stopped.

My soul packed bag.

Before anybody could talk

I SCREAMED.

“JESUS!!!”

I jumped back

AND FELL OFF THE BED.

PAH.

I opened my eyes.

Ceiling.

Fan.

Mosquito.

My room.

I touched my chest.

Alive.

Breathing.

No pregnant woman.

No hotel.

No Emmanuel.

No Emmy.

Just me… and my foolish imagination.

“It was a dream??”

A very stupid dream.

I laughed like mad person.

Then

KNOCK. KNOCK.

I froze.

Flashback activated.

“God please not again.”

“Lilian!”

It was Emmy’s gateman.

Relief entered my soul.

“Madam! There is a delivery man outside!”

DELIVERY???

My heart started beating nonsense again.

I wrapped my wrapper and went out.

Outside stood one man holding nylon like hope.

“Delivery for Lilian.”

I collected it carefully like it might explode.

Inside?

CHOCOLATE.
BISCUITS.
AND A NOTE.

‘Sorry for everything. Let me make it up to you.’
Emmy

I hissed.

“So now apology has package.”

Before I could finish insulting the chocolate, my phone rang.

Caller ID: Emmanuel

I nearly dropped the phone.

“Hello?” I said, pretending my heart was not doing press-ups.

“Lilian,” his calm voice entered my ear.
“I just wanted to hear your voice.”

Ah.

Danger.

“I was thinking… maybe we could have dinner tonight.”

DINNER.

Not chaos.
Not shouting.
Not dreams.

Real dinner.

My brain started calculating.

Transport fare was already gone from yesterday stress.

But peace sounded sweet.

“…Okay,” I said. “I’ll come.”

Fast forward.

I dressed fine-fine.
Spent money I didn’t have.
Entered keke.
Entered bus.
Entered another bus.

My account balance was now breathing faintly.

When I arrived, Emmanuel smiled.

“Hope your journey was okay?”

I wanted to cry.

“Very okay,” I lied.

Then he said casually:

“Oh… I booked a hotel nearby. It’s quieter
