EBSU SUG President Meets Governor During Surprise Campus Visit, Presents Key Student Challenges

The President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), Chika Abraham Nwuhuo, has shared details of his brief but impactful interaction with the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, during the Governor’s unscheduled visit to a classroom at Ebonyi State University on December 3, 2025.
According to the SUG President, the unexpected visit provided a “golden opportunity” to directly present the challenges affecting students across the university.
SUG President Highlights Students’ Needs
During the conversation, Nwuhuo expressed his appreciation for the Governor’s continuous commitment to improving education in the state. He acknowledged several ongoing projects within the university, including:
- Upgrades at the Faculty of Law
- Renovations at the College of Agricultural Sciences (CAS) Campus
- Developments at the Engineering Campus in Ishieke
- Internal road construction at Presco Campus
He then used the opportunity to highlight issues that require urgent attention to improve student welfare.

Key Requests Presented to the Governor
The SUG President appealed for:
- A fully equipped health clinic for quick medical attention
- Fans in lecture halls to create a more conducive learning environment
- Proper student toilets across campuses
- Stronger security measures for the safety of all students
Governor’s Response
Nwuhuo stated that the Governor listened with keen interest and assured him that the concerns raised would be addressed.
The President concluded by expressing optimism in the administration’s willingness to support the student community, adding:
“Together, we will make EBSU great. Yes, we CAN.”
