EBSU notice on mop-up exam for over-stayed students of the Ebonyi State university

The Vice-Chancellor has approved a University-wide Mop-Up Examinations for students who have exceeded the approved regulated time of studentship (6 and 8 years), but are desirous to graduate from the University.


In the light of the above, students who want to take the Mop-up Examination must meet the following conditions:

  1. Must have been registered full-time/WASP students of the University who have spent more than the stipulated time on the academic programme.
  2. Must have registered and taken full lectures and examination in all the courses for which mop-up is requested for.
  3. Student(s) should not be allowed to take a mop-up examination in courses he/she has not attempted an examination and failed earlier.
  4. Students should take a maximum of 30 credit units in the mop-up for full payment of the sessional school fees and pay ten thousand naira (₦10,000.00) only, for each additional course up to a maximum of ten courses (or a number to be determined by the Management).

For effective management of the University-wide mop-up examination, the Deans and the HODs in liaison with the Results Database office should compile a comprehensive list of the affected students and forward to Management for further action.

Again, the HODs are directed to contact the affected students without delay, while the Deans are required to co-ordinate the mop-up examinations in their respective Faculties.

The mop-up examination is to start from Monday 14th July, to Saturday 19th July, 2025.

It should be noted that students who are on suspension or expelled are not qualified to write the examination.
