EBSU SUG Reacts to NELFUND Underpayment, Promises Payment After Final Batch

Following several complaints from students about underpayment in the ongoing NELFUND disbursement, the Students’ Union Government (SUG) has finally addressed the issue.

In a recent response, the SUG President assured affected students that those who were underpaid will receive their balance immediately after the last batch of payments scheduled for this week is completed. According to him, the process is not as simple as many students think, and there are complexities involved behind the scenes.

He further revealed that while some students were underpaid, a good number of students were actually overpaid but have remained silent about it. He warned that those who were overpaid and choose not to speak up may eventually “learn in the hard way,” suggesting that necessary adjustments could still be made.

The statement appears to confirm that reconciliation is ongoing and that the discrepancies are part of a broader payment process that is still being finalized. Students who are yet to receive complete payment are therefore advised to remain calm and allow the process to be concluded before drawing final conclusions.

As concerns continue to grow among students, many are closely watching how the situation unfolds. For now, the SUG maintains that affected students will be paid once the final batch is cleared.

Studentsdash will continue to follow this development and provide timely updates as more information becomes available.
